Honor

God is moving. God is delivering. God is setting free. God is a God of miracles.

Something is going to change after today. Today something is going to happen. When you’re done reading this, you going to be more confident; you and God are going to conquer the world! Your future is full of power. Your future is full of glory. Your future is no match…I came to tell somebody that while you were in the hole, you’re on your way to the palace. The bible says that the righteous man will fall 7 times but 7 times he will get back up again! A future experience is getting ready to erase your past memories. One thing that you experienced is getting ready to erase all your bad memories. All of your years of disappointment are going to be thrown in the trash can. Your future will be glorious!

The devil is no match for you because if he was really all he claims to be, you wouldn’t be here today. You wouldn’t be standing now. But the fact that I’m still standing exalts the name of Jesus. If the devil was all he was claiming to be, you’d be dead now. There is a generation of powerful men and women; I see a generation of future millionaires, a generation of future husbands and wives, of fathers and mothers. You will not fail; you will not die in the wilderness. Everything that you have been going through is nothing but part of the process. God is shaping you, God is molding you. He is equipping you.

The power of honor

Every time you were stepped on, every time you were lied against, every time you were schemed against, you are to go to those people and give them an offering because they have turned you into who you are today – because they have turned you into the head. The pain of what you’ve through turned will turn you into something greater. The devil needs more than that to wipe you out. Look for those people, look at them in the eye and say thank you. You went to sleep yesterday night and woke up today. That means you serve an awesome God. That nightmare couldn’t kill you. The devil couldn’t kill you; his demons couldn’t kill you. Every time the devil tries to remind you of your past give him a well statement of what his future looks like, “Devil you are lost for eternity. You will burn in the pit of hell, you and all of your demons.”

Go back to the Father; you came from the heart of God and one day you must go back to Him. You cannot honor God if you are not grateful for what He’s done. You can’t honor if your heart’s not grateful.

What is honor?

To honor is to have on high esteem/appreciate/respect. When we speak of honoring God, it’s when we have Him on high esteem. To honor is to be grateful. It’s to have gratitude. I want to share with you a few stories of honor, who to honor and what happens when you dishonor.

“Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables that He departed from there. 54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?” 57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.” 58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Mathew 13:53-58

Who must we honor?

1. Honor the Lord – with our wealth.

“Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase.” Proverbs 3:9

Every man of God has to speak the language of honor: time, money, and service. When you are supposed to serve and show up late it is a dishonor to God. When you don’t give your tithes and your offerings, you dishonor God.

2. Honor our natural parents

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12

You have to honor your mom and your dad. Why? So you can have a long life. Whenever you honor my mother, you are sowing into the womb that gave you life. She birthed you, honor her. A lot of your parents ask you for a favor “Hey can you take me to buy groceries? You say, “No, I can’t, I need to pray.” Don’t get so religious! It’s a Commandment. When you honor your father you activate generational blessings.

3. Honor our spiritual parents.

“Then the men of David said to him, “This is the day of which the LORD said to you, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.’” And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. 5 Now it happened afterward that David’s heart troubled him because he had cut Saul’s robe. 6 And he said to his men, “The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.” 1 Samuel 24:4-7

You cannot receive from a mantle you criticize. You cannot receive from the man of God you criticize. If you’re open to the criticism you won’t receive. If you don’t honor the mantle, if you don’t honor the anointing, you won’t be able to receive. We need to honor our spiritual mother and father. If you cannot honor your parents, if you cannot honor your spiritual parents, doors will never open. If you say something against the man of God, against an elder – you speak against the house. You cannot dishonor. We dishonor with the words of our mouth, with our body language. A lot of the time we dishonor with our hearts.

4. Honor the prophets

“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.” Matthew 10:40-42

5. Honor the righteous man; the pastor, the leader, the mentors

There are several people who didn’t honor the righteous and they suffered the consequences. Moses’ brother and sister didn’t honor Moses and caught leprosy. Satan dishonored God and he ended up getting kicked out of Heaven. Michal, David’s wife dishonored her husband and she was barren from her dishonor. If you want to see the hand of God moving you need to honor.

6. Honor new believers, the little ones in the faith

I believe if we do what God has called us to do God will lift up a generation that honors. If you choose not to honor you will have to face the consequences. He will call you for an account. Whenever you honor God, He will give back to you.
