How many of you have had a mood or a craving for something? God is in the mood for something. God is in the mood to answer prayer! Say “God is in the mood to answer my prayers!”
18The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
19He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. Psalm 145:18-19
To every beginning, there is a middle
God is listening for all who pray from their heart. I’m here to tell you that God is in the mood to answer your prayer. To every start there is a beginning and to every beginning there is an end. In my life there is a start, and in my life there is an end.
This message will transform your life. This kind of stuff you won’t find on the street or your local university. Everything in life has a beginning and an end, but between the beginning and end there is a middle. Every pursuit has a middle and that middle is where the challenges, roadblocks, detours and tests are. People who are led by their emotions never finish when they realize it takes hard work.
God has finished your life and what is your finish? Your finish is the divine calling He had when he declared you, when he created you, when he saw the personality you would have and what you would do and act. To get to the finish, to fulfill the calling he has divinely given you, what he has put in the inside of you, you must overcome the middle and in this very season you have encountered the middle! A couple months ago you were good and you lost your job out of nowhere! Bad news knocked on your door and now you’re in trial and tribulation. It’s called the middle! There is a wall in front of you, an obstacle in front of you so you don’t reach your destiny and in that middle is where we have to begin praying and wait till something happens.
If in the inside you have said “God, I want to fulfill my calling”, you will meet the middle. My brother called me one day from home and told me my mom had passed out and fainted, so I began declaring deliverance while on the phone as I rushed out of work. It so happens my mom suffered two strokes in six days, one on the left side of her brain and one on the right side. The only thoughts I could get were of fear. At one moment I got scared and frustrated and I was like “man, what’s going on!?” God spoke to me, and there are two things I want to share with you about when you encounter God. My middle has got nothing on my finish! It doesn’t matter what I encounter. God has already shown me my finish and I don’t care what my middle has put in front of me, I know what my finish is. I know what the word says. By his stripes and wounds we have been healed. Look at your middle and when you get fear, unbelief and doubt and you don’t know how you’re going to make it out and how God is going to come through, remember that you have a finish. In your life you have a finish. He is your provider. The blessing of the Lord belongs to me. Is there any son, daughter or fighter of God here? Your bank account may be empty right now or you may not be in the right position right now, but the middle will not stop me to reach the finish. I will fight the middle!
God told me this. He shook me when I felt scared. “Is this not why I sent you to this church? Isn’t this what you have been trained to deal with? What are you going to do now? Now is the time for you to apply everything you have learned and been trained for. You need to stand in the gap! You need to pray for your mother and grab the anointing of the house and walk in it!”
And that’s why God brought you here! Start warring against the enemy! So I began to pray for my mom and confessed the Word of God over her. For the glory of God, my mom is not paralyzed! She is walking and talking. She’s recovered for the glory of Jesus! How was I able to see a breakthrough through my mother? My mother should have been paralyzed from at least one side but I prayed and pushed through the middle.
Pray until something happens
I’m going to share three things with you to apply:
Confess and maintain your confession -
Life and death is found in the tongue. Just by speaking the Word of God, life or death can come forth. God wants you to confess out of your mouth three things while you are going through your middle.
1. Confess the word of God. You need to go from being fixed on your middle to fixed on God. Believe that He will come through for you, believe that He will bless you. Stop exalting that little issue! Stop exalting your problems! Stop exalting the fact that the devil says you won’t make it and start exalting God!
I challenge someone to stop putting your eyes on the middle and start putting your eyes on the finish! Begin to thank God! He’s a miracle working God! Thank God who laid out the foundations! Thanks to the God who struck the Egyptian first born and split the red sea! Begin to confess and exalt God and his greatness and confess it over your middle. I’m here to teach you but I want you to apply it.
2. Confess prophetic words that have been spoken over your life. Grab that word and make war with it. Confess what God has spoken over your life.
3. Confess what God has spoken to you and shown you. You must confess, confess, and confess. Confess the next time you declare and something will happen. God has given us tools to destroy the works of Satan. My weapon of choice is prayer. Speak to your middle and shout “my weapon of choice is prayer!”
Revival doesn’t come in a brief case. It comes when you dig! Digging is praying! Digging is intercession! One man on his knees is more powerful than 1000 soldiers. I’d rather be on my knees digging.
3 steps for prayers to be answered
1. Faith – Complete confidence and trust. You need to be convinced that prayer works!
2. To understand the times – You need to understand that God will tell you to pray, but that doesn’t mean that will anything will happen right away. You will need to wait until God comes through.
3. Persevere and endure – You start to pray when God tells you to and don’t stop until he tells you to stop.
