Obey the Voice of God
There are two steps to be followed in order to righteously follow and live in the will of God: we must hear the voice of God, and obey what we are called to do.
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27
When God speaks we must listen, but once we have listened, we must obey what was spoken over us. Whoever listens to what God has said and does it, will be blessed. You must be willing to obey. Listening is no longer enough, obedience must follow. If all you do is listen to what you are told, or listen to what God has spoken over your life but you do not act upon it, it is not enough. Don’t get caught up in the melody of the voice that speaks to you or the beauty of what is around you, obey the word of God. Proverbs states that we must go and sell whatever we have and gain wisdom. Our wisdom and understanding is more profitable than silver and gold.
Hear the Voice of God
It is time that we begin to learn how to hear the voice of God. God speaks to each one of us in a different way. God’s voice can be audible, in our minds, or it can be visual. He might show us something and speak to us through that. He can speak through other people; our mentors, pastors, family, friends, leaders. He can also speak through angels. It is up to us whether we hear His voice. There is a spirit of disobedience that is out to get us. We must stand up against it. There are curses that are after us: the curse of being an orphan, the curse of ungratefulness, of being an unbeliever and the curse of disobedience. We are not any of these things.
Speak the same Language
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8
What is the book of the law? The book of law is the Bible, the sayings of God. The book of the law must not depart from our mouth, meaning that we must speak the same things that God speaks, we must dislike what He dislikes and we must rebuke what He rebukes. You will never be intimate with God until you speak His language. A man and a woman will never be intimate until they speak the same language, then romance will follow. It works the same way with God.
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man…” Matthew 7:24
Whoever listens to the sayings of God and obeys them will be compared to a wise man. Wherever God goes we must go, what He says we must say. We must always be ready and willing to obey. When He calls you to do something, He will give you what you need to fulfill it.
Do it Yourself!
When God calls you to do something, you must do it yourself. Don’t allow others to do things for you, do it yourself. People will never appreciate you until you appreciate yourself. You don’t need anyone to love you; you can love yourself for who God made you. You were made beautiful and strong, in the image and likeness of God.
No one is going to speak for you on judgment day. You are going to have to DIY: do it yourself! God will ask you for an account, you will have to give it to Him on your own. Obey the word of God and you will be compared to a wise man. Let the floods come and the winds blow: you house will stand! Your children, family, and career will all stand because you obeyed. If you do His saying you will inherit every promise He has promised to you.
Stop waiting for people to tell you who you are. Speak over yourself; your deliverance is too valuable for you to wait for an appointment. Nobody knows your own devils like you do. Nobody knows what you’re going through like you do. Stop waiting for other people. Sing to yourself. Declare over yourself. Minister to yourself. If you wait for someone else you are giving away your fortune.

nice lesson, maybe a lesson can be done on getting in tune with Gods voice that be cool,i heard that the more u pray in the spirit the more tune u can be to his voice, thoughts?
Yeah, as you pray in the Spirit, your spirit is edified.
1 Corinthians 14:4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
Yes, praying in the spirit, even throughout the day, will edify you and fill you with the Holy Spirit no matter where you are. Give it a try, and let me know what happens! God bless you.
ok cool thanks,i was recently filled wif the holy spirit so now i can,the lady(some1 from el rey jesus) who prayed 4 me to be filled said i should pray atleast an hour each day,i have heard or atleast think i did hear the voice of God before but i wasnt filled with da holy spirit yet,how often should u spend praying in da spirit?
Well, start with 5 min. Prayer, fasting, faith, etc. etc. is like everything else in life. Don’t complicate the ways or power of God. Everything is done little by little. If you can pray for 5 min. glory to God! The next time, try 7 min. then 10 min. etc. etc. Praying for long periods of time is powerful, but only if it’s truly from your heart. Be honest with God, He wants your BEST, He’s not interested in a competition or “how long you can pray”. It’s your heart He’s after. Give Him all yiou’ve got, that’s all He wants. Remember, He gave us His best, so give Him your best too. Hope that answered your question.
yea i did, like christ gave us his all i wanna give God my all so i wanna know as much as i can and recieve as much as i can,and being a leader in my church the more i have the more i can give, plus im young so i have the rest of my life ahead of me,1st year of college also,i cant wait til CAP dis year, its gonna be amazing!2nd time going, revival, reform n fire!its gonna be awesome:-)
Yes it’s going to be amazing! Keep learning from the Word of God in your own study time, hear teachings from men/women of God full of the Holy Spirit and revelation, keep growing, and work your faith brother. This is a race, a journey, it’s not just for a few days. When you get into a relationship with God, He’s not into having a fling, a one-night stand, He wants you forever and ever, He’s never going to let you go….God bless ya, enjoy CAP!
