The Will of God for Our Life
When we are rebellious, we are resisting against the will God has for our lives, making us live without order and organization. God is a God of order; when we are called to become servants of God, we are called to walk in order and live in the will that God has planned for our lives. Yet, it doesn’t matter how long we have been in church or how much we do, the moment we do something that separates us from God or that is not in the plans that He has for our life, we become rebellious.
This week Pastor Melina spoke on rebellion. Many people walk in rebellion on a daily basis and don’t even see it; they say they walk in the will of God but then go out and do things that are not in the plans God has for them. This preaching not only spoke to our hearts because it hurt to realize that there are things in our lives that we still need to let go of, but it spoke to our spirits because it made us realize that our walk with God is serious. Letting go of the things of the world hurts because sometimes it’s those people we care about or those hobbies we like that hold us back from fulfilling the will of God. But no matter how much it hurts, we have to let go.
Rebellion in the Bible
“Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us.” Numbers 14:9
When we rebel against God we lose Gods protection over our lives. When we lose the protection of God over our life, we will eventually lose His presence. Once you have experienced the presence of God, you will long for it. Living without it will leave us empty. As long as you continue to live under the will of God, He will protect you from all things.
Letting Go!
As Christians, we as followers of Christ are called to live like Jesus lived. In order to live righteously we must leave all those things that don’t allow us to live for God. When we get into a car with that guy or girl by ourselves, when we speak to those people that we know we should not be speaking to or when we speak in a way that doesn’t please God, we are rebelling against Him. As simple as it sounds, small things matter to God. The spirit of rebellion has taken over the lives of not only those in the world but also many in church and it is time that we take a stand and acknowledge the things we do wrong and change them. The enemy has robbed many from their blessings and now it is up to us to redeem what has been taken from us and live aligned to God’s will. Are you ready?

Hi you said in the article that “When we rebel against God we lose Gods protection over our lives. When we lose the protection of God over our life, we will eventually lose His presence.” Does that mean that once we rebel.. even if we repent, we can’t experience His presence again ??
no no no, God’s presence will leave you because of sin. He never leaves us, never forsakes us as His Word says. When you walk in rebellion, it’s like saying “I’m going to do my own thing. I don’t need God.” We have free will, so God says “Ok.” You walk out of His protection, His hand, and now your on your own, facing the world, and the prince of this world, satan. When you repent from rebellion, God is waiting for you with open arms. Read the story of the prodigal son. God bless you!
