Principles to apply in our lives

Service…

By applying principles to our daily lives, our lives will be transformed.

1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.2 And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?” 7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” 8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” 9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” 10 Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.” 12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13: 1 – 17

The principle of service is the way to greatness. Many want to become great but don’t have the heart to do it. To be great in the eyes of God, we must serve. To become someone, we must serve God to live life by His will. The bible declares that Jesus got up from the table and began to wash His disciple’s feet. The King of all Kings humbled Himself before the world and began to wash the feet of His disciples… He served them. Our attitudes are what hold us back from serving God. We must humble ourselves before Him in order serve one another. Many say they serve God and His children but they don’t have what it takes to truly serve.

Receive the gift of serving…

In the times of the bible people were hungry to serve; now people are focused on other things. Jesus took the initiative; He walked the talk and took it upon Himself to serve man and His God. Many times people don’t see what is truly in front of them. Many people will have someone who needs prayer before them, but they won’t pray for them. Many people may need someone to hug them, and sometimes we walk past them without saying a word. Many wonder why God hasn’t blessed them… This is because we must first begin to serve Him in order for Him to bless us with the things He has for us. We must be open to the things that God has for our lives.

The bible declares that Jesus said to Peter that if he did not receive Him, they didn’t have any business together. Receive Him! Serve His people. When we serve, we humble ourselves before Him.

Unity…

Get involved in the church, do something to serve the Kingdom. When we begin to serve each other, He will release unity into our lives. When the devil comes against one of us, he comes against all of us. We don’t fight alone. When we stand, there are many people standing by our side; in this Kingdom we are not alone. When we understand the principle of unity we will understand that we stand as one.  The devil comes against a people who stand together in unity as children of God. We must understand that if the devil wants to do something, he will have to stand before a team of people who stand one beside the other as one. When the devil comes against our families, he comes against us. In the bible, Jesus said you must serve. We must serve to defeat the devil of his evil doings.

1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[a] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:1 – 5

Our service will prove that we are all of the same heart and the same mind. We cannot be together until our passion is one with the passion of God. Our passion must be to serve as Jesus served His disciples. If Jesus Christ humbled Himself to wash the feet of His disciples, you too must be ready to serve others.

Give everything you have…

We must unite as one in order to bring souls into the Kingdom of God; we must unite in order to take over the city. When we become one, people in the world will see that there is a true God of unity, love, and passion. We must stand as one in unity to show the world that God brings us together. We are one in the Kingdom of God! Be there for each other.  Many people need someone to be there for them, to serve them. Jesus’ main priority was and still is, holiness. We must be holy like Him. Are you willing to humble yourself and serve? Be ready to give your life for others. We are one family with one purpose. It is time to humble ourselves before the Almighty God and become one.
