My story

What is your story?  Can you keep someone up all night telling them all the things you’ve been through in life?  Could you write books about your life and all you’ve seen or done?  That’s what I’m going to speak about with you right now.

1 “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

The story of Jesus Christ

A long time ago I made a decision that His story was going to be the one I tell.  Nowadays everyone wants to tell their own story, talk about themselves, how much they’ve accomplished, how far they want to get in life.  Their selfishness takes over.  There are people who you speak to that 28 out of 30 minutes they are speaking about themselves.  Everyone is caught up with their drama, their needs, and their desires.  The bible declares that even when you find yourself flagging in your faith, when you find yourself weak along the way, when you want to quit, there’s a story that you need to look at and it’s not the story of your life but the story of Jesus Christ.

Somebody came before you

He had to put up with criticism, spitting on His face, people tore His clothes and slapped Him saying “prophecy, who slapped you?”  We want to talk about ourselves and want our needs to be met but look at what the bible says.  Somebody came before you so you could stand where you are.  Before you start talking about how far you want to get in life, what you want to do, don’t forget that someone had to pay the price for you to get here.

Jesus never quit

It’s not the time to quit.  You might be going through stuff in your life, family, job, but it’s not time to quit.  The bible says Jesus never quit, He kept His eyes on where He was going and started and finished His race.  Somebody asked me this over the weekend, “What have you done to get where you are?”  So I answered back “I’ve done small things for a long time.”  The bible says be faithful with the little and God will give you much.  What seemed insignificant to somebody else will speak volumes to God.  It will show you who you are, doing small simple things for a long time will move God to give you more.  Jesus would do small things.  Pray with His Father in Heaven, help the poor, preaching the Kingdom of God, go to sleep, wake up, and do it again.

You want to finish what you started but Jesus finished in the will of His Father, what God wanted Him to do.  Go over the story that Jesus went through so you can get to where you need to be.  Make it your priority to tell His story to the world.  That is my story that is my glory, to make it to the end, to never stop running; I will never stop telling you and everyone I can about the greatest story ever, Jesus Christ.

You’re going to make it

You will make it to the end.  The enemy might’ve discouraged you, lied to you, but if you fix your eyes on Jesus you will make it to the end.  This race isn’t over till it’s over.  I’m not impacted by other people’s stories but about what Jesus has done in their life.  I want to raise a generation that will declare who He is to the whole world.  Everywhere you go, everywhere you show up, you will say that Jesus Christ touched you, made a way for you.  When you were tired He picked you up, when you had nothing He gave you everything.  You need to finish the race; you need to make it to the end, so Jesus Christ will get the glory in your life!  Keep your eyes on Jesus.  If you put your eyes on people, they will let you down, they will fail you, disappoint you, betray you, but if you lock your perception on Jesus who both began and finished the race that we are in.  God sent me to release a grace upon your life so you can run the race.  So you can run this race and allow His story to become your story.  When that happens, it becomes the key to run your race.
